On behalf of the Student Bar Association (SBA), we would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to the University at Buffalo School of Law! We welcome you to the university and the Buffalo legal community.
The SBA is the elected student government entrusted with representing student interests at the law school. SBA functions as an umbrella organization for student clubs, affinity groups, academic journals, and moot courts in the law school, providing support and allocating financial assistance to these groups. We also serve as a line of communication between students and administration, working together to provide you with the best legal education as well as an enjoyable three years here in Buffalo. We hold open bi-weekly meetings to ensure the voices of all students are heard.
In addition, SBA executes its own line of social events, educational programs, and services for students. Our goal is to ensure that all students become part of the law school community, both in and out of the lecture hall. We work hard to enhance your educational experience by helping to provide wellness information, funding for conference & competition attendance, and other programming throughout the school year.
SBA hosts several signature social events such as the 1L Orientation Welcome Event, Halloween Spooktacular, Barrister’s Ball, and many more. We also have a partnership with the GOLD Group (Graduates of the Last Decade) to provide alumni-student networking opportunities with practicing attorneys in the Buffalo community. To keep law students connected to the university community, SBA also helps organize a yearly mixer between the law school and other professional schools.
Once again, congratulations on your acceptance to the University at Buffalo School of Law! We know firsthand how daunting this experience can seem right now, but we hope you will choose to make the University at Buffalo School of Law YOUR law school come August 2025.
