My Journey:

Benjamin Rogers is a proud two-time graduate of the University at Buffalo, where he earned both his bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in English Education. As a first-generation and queer college student, he understands how overwhelming higher education can feel and brings that perspective into his work through empathy, honesty, and a deep commitment to access.

Originally intending to pursue a career in teaching, Benjamin found his purpose in higher education advising. He now works with a wide range of students, including undergraduate students exploring law school, individuals actively preparing to apply, and mid-career professionals considering a new path in the legal field.

In addition to advising, Benjamin oversees all law school admissions events, directs the 3+3 Accelerated Law Degree Program, and assists students relocating to Buffalo for their studies. He is passionate about making legal education approachable and believes that every student deserves to feel seen, supported, and prepared as they move toward their goals.

Fun Fact: Benjamin once read over one hundred books in a year and has also been published twice in literary magazines.

Advice and Tips for Prospective Students:

When you meet with me, or any advisor, come prepared. Bring questions, goals, or even uncertainties you want to work through. The best conversations happen when you show up curious and open to feedback. Whether you are unsure about your personal statement, wondering what makes an applicant stand out, or trying to figure out if law school is the right move for you, we can dig into it together.

Every part of your application should also speak with purpose. Do not just fill in the blanks- tell us something real. What drives you? What challenges have shaped you? Use each document to build a story only you can tell.

And finally: if you do not have a LinkedIn profile, make one. Begin connecting with faculty, staff, and peers in the legal world, including me. You never know when a conversation, a connection, or a follow-up message might lead to an opportunity, an insight, or a turning point in your journey to law school.
