January & February 2020
02/12/2020 - The School of Law hosted our annual Career Fair where law students met with employer representatives from across the Western New York legal community for an evening of networking.
02/01/20 - Former U.S. Attorney Michael A. Battle received the 2020 Edwin F. Jaeckle Award, the highest award the School of Law and theh UB Law Alumni Association can bestow.
01/23/2020 - The School of Law and the UB Law Alumni Association coordinate a mentoring program for law students. Experienced practitioners in the Western New York area (attorneys admitted for three years or more) are matched with first-year law students or LL.M. students. Every year we host a Mentor Kickoff Reception where mentors and their students are introduced to each other.
01/08/2020 - Dean Aviva Abramovsky, members of the law school faculty, and Rochester-area alumni welcomed graduates admitted to the New York State Bar by the Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department. The gathering took place at Java’s Café in Rochester, NY.
November - December 2019
11/23/2019 – Law students participated in our intramural Representation in Mediation Competition. The two winning teams will represent the law school at the ABA Regional Representation in Mediation Competition.
10/26/2019 – The Classes of 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009 or 2014 gathered at the Buffalo Club to celebrate the School of Law’s 2019 All-Alumni Celebration.
10/24/2019 - Law alumni, students and staff gathered as the Buffalo Public Interest Law Program celebrated the 25th anniversary of its annual auction at the Hotel Henry.
10/22/2019 - The School of Law’s New York City Program held a reception for law alumni and students participating in the fall program.
10/19/2019 - Law faculty, student, colleagues and family gathered to mark the retirement of beloved law professor, scholar, and activist Isabel Marcus.
10/12/2019 - The School of Law’s Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and the Latin American Law students Association (LALSA) held our annual Student of Color Brunch for law students and the community.
10/04/19 - The School of Law hosted the second annual New York State Public Defenders Career Fair, giving law students and recent graduates an opportunity to interview with public defenders offices from around the state of New York.
10/03/19 - A celebration marks the significance of Western New York’s Niagara River being designated as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention.
10/02/2019 - The UB Law Alumni Association's GOLD Group and our Student Bar Association hosted our Annual Fall Social for law students and alumni.
10/01/2019 - U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Jeffrey S. Sutton visited the law school and discussed the role of State rights in an increasingly federally focused governmental system. The event was hosted by the Federalist Society and American Constitution Society.
09/27/2019 - The School of Law joined our law alumni for an evening celebrating the legendary Professor Kenneth F. Joyce at Kleinhans Music Hall.
09/25/2019 - The student chapter of The Federalist Society welcomed U.S. Solicitor General Noel Francisco to the School of Law for a discussion and Q&A with law students, faculty, and local legal practitioners.
09/25/2019 - The Buffalo Sports & Entertainment Law Society and the UB Law Alumni Association hosted UB Bulls Tailgate Party where law students, alumni and friends cheered on the UB Bulls who defeated the Temple Owls.
09/10-11/2019 - SBA held their annual Table Days, giving student organizations and law journals an opportunity to meet with students and talk to them about getting involved. Participation is voluntary, though it helps enrich the law school experience.
