Appellate Division Justice Craig Hannah '95 to provide keynote remarks at Commencement

A longtime jurist who gained national renown as the presiding judge of the country’s first Opioid Intervention Court will be the keynote speaker as the law school gathers for its 136th Commencement ceremony. Hon. Craig Hannah ’95, now associate justice of the New York State Appellate Division, Fourth Department, will address graduates and their families during the ceremony, to be held May 18 at UB’s Center for the Arts on the North Campus.   • Prof. David Coombs supervises new Veterans Law Practicum

    David Coombs, a retired Army lieutenant colonel and former JAG officer, has launched the School of Law’s first Veterans Law Practicum, where students assist veterans with benefits and claims. Certified as a Veterans Service Officer, he partners with Western New York’s Veterans One-stop Center to expand UB’s impact.

Mitchell Lecture looks at Biden and the Supreme Court

As the nation enters the era of a new presidential administration, the School of Law will host a lecture and discussion assessing the prior administration’s relationship with the U.S. Supreme Court from a legal historian’s perspective.

“Antagonists and Enablers: A First Draft History of Biden and the Supremes” will take place Friday, March 14, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., in the law school’s Charles B. Sears Law Library, in O’Brian Hall on UB’s North Campus. [Read More]
