Diane F. Bosse ’76 of Clarence, N.Y., was elected chair-elect of the Council of the American Bar Association Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar. Bosse is special counsel with Hurwitz & Fine in Buffalo. She is a past recipient of the Law Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumna Award and an emerita member of the Dean’s Advisory Council.
William R. Hites ’79 has been elected president of the Erie County Bar Foundation, in Buffalo. He is a solo practitioner and resident of Buffalo.
Dan D. Kohane ’79, a senior partner with Hurwitz & Fine in the Buffalo office, was elected vice president of the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence. Kohane is an adjunct faculty member at the School of Law. He lives in Buffalo.
George W. Collins Jr. ’84 is named in Best Lawyers in America 2019. Collins is a partner with Bouvier Law in Buffalo, practicing personal injury litigation. He is a Buffalo resident.
Jennifer J. Parker ’84 received the Culture Keepers Award from the Uncrowned Queens Institute for Research and Education on Women, in Buffalo. The institute acknowledges the lives of African-American men and women whose contributions and accomplishments have helped build a vital community. Parker is founder and CEO of Black Capital Network in Buffalo and president of Jackson Parker Communications, a public relations consulting firm in Buffalo, where she resides.
Jennifer V. Lazenby ’97 has been named a privacy law specialist by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (accredited by the American Bar Association). She is director of privacy with MAXIMUS in Rochester, N.Y., where she resides.
Darleen V. Karaszewski ’99 has been named partner with the creditors’ rights law firm Grossman & Karaszewski in East Amherst, N.Y. She lives in Lockport, N.Y.
Timothy C. Muck ’02 has been named partner with Barclay Damon in the Rochester, N.Y., office, practicing in the area of trusts and estates. Muck was previously a partner with Lacy Katzen in Rochester, where he resides.
Julie A. Bastian ’04 is a founding member of the new firm Beckage PLLC in Buffalo. Bastian counsels clients regarding employment and business strategy matters. She lives in North Tonawanda, N.Y.
Rita Nischal ’04 was named to the Rochester Business Journal 2018 “Forty Under 40” list. She is a vice president and trust officer with Canandaigua National Bank & Trust in Pittsford, N.Y. Nischal is a resident of Fairport, N.Y.
Joseph M. Hanna ’05 received the George W. Thorn Award from UB. The award recognizes alumni under 40 for their outstanding contributions to their career fields or academic areas. Hanna is a partner with Goldberg Segalla in Buffalo. He is a past president of the Minority Bar Association of Western New York, in Buffalo. Hanna resides in Amherst, N.Y.
Elizabeth M. Midgley ’06 of West Falls, N.Y., has been appointed to the Town of Orchard Park, N.Y., Board of Ethics. She is a partner with Anspach Law in Buffalo, practicing defense litigation, including medical, dental and legal malpractice and professional responsibility and ethics.
Crystal J. Rodriguez ’06 has been appointed chief of staff at Buffalo State College. Rodriguez previously served as chief diversity officer with the City of Buffalo. She is a Buffalo resident.
Jennifer A. Beckage ’07 has established a new law firm, Beckage PLLC, with offices in Buffalo and New York City. Beckage is a certified information privacy professional and will counsel clients regarding technology, cybersecurity and privacy issues. She lives in Williamsville, N.Y.
Kara L. Hilburger ’07 has joined Beckage PLLC as a certified information privacy professional in the Buffalo office. She will counsel clients regarding privacy regulations.
Evan Y. Bussiere ’08 has become a member of Hurwitz & Fine in Buffalo, where he resides. He practices in the firm’s commercial real estate and economic development practice groups.
Jennifer C. Jones ’08 has become counsel with Robins Kaplan in the New York City office, handling cases involving antitrust and trade regulation matters. She previously served as a trial attorney, criminal litigation consultant and training coordinator with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. She has also served as an assistant U.S. attorney in North Dakota and a U.S. Air Force JAG.
Rachelle Nuhfer ’11 has become associated with Barclay Damon in Rochester, N.Y., where she resides. She counsels clients in the planning, administration and litigation of estates and trusts matters.
Anthony R. Faraco Jr. ’14 has become an adjunct professor at Erie Community College in Buffalo, teaching in its pre-law program. He also participates in Lawyers Night, sponsored by WIVB-TV. Faraco is an associate with Bouvier Law in Buffalo. He lives on Grand Island, N.Y.
Logan C. Geen ’14 of Spencerport, N.Y., has joined Bond Schoeneck & King as an associate in the Rochester, N.Y., office. Geen concentrates his practice in health care, counseling hospitals, health systems, medical practices, nursing homes, home care agencies and other health care providers on statutory and regulatory compliance.
Christopher P. Maugans ’14 received the Service to the School Award from the UB School of Management Alumni Association. He is an associate with Goldberg Segalla, practicing complex commercial litigation in Buffalo, where he resides.
Henry A. Zomerfeld ’14 has joined Hodgson Russ as an associate in the Buffalo office. He counsels clients regarding environmental and energy law. Zomerfeld is secretary of the Law Alumni Association’s GOLD Group. He lives in Kenmore, N.Y.
Catherine D. Aughey ’16 has become associated with Faraci Lange in Buffalo. She practices personal injury law and concentrates her practice in medical malpractice. Aughey lives on Grand Island, N.Y.
Matthew J. Eaves ’17 of Rochester, N.Y., is practicing as an associate with Barclay Damon in the Rochester office. Eaves concentrates his practice in the area of trusts and estates.
Philip C. Barth IV ’18 has joined Barclay Damon as a law clerk, practicing corporate law in the Buffalo office. He is a resident of Snyder, N.Y.
