Hon. Michael M. Mohun ’80 will receive the UB Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumni Award for the judiciary on May 5 in Buffalo. He is an acting New York State Supreme Court justice, 8th Judicial District, and a Wyoming County Multi-Court judge in Warsaw, N.Y. Mohun lives in Cowlesville, N.Y.
Hon. Paula L. Feroleto ’82 will be honored at the 31st Buffalo Law Review Dinner on April 29 in Buffalo. Feroleto is a New York State Supreme Court justice, 8th Judicial District, in Buffalo, where she previously served as chief administrative judge. She is a past recipient of the UB Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumna Award for the judiciary and is a member of the School of Law’s Dean’s Advisory Council. She lives in Buffalo.
David C. Schopp ’82 will receive the UB Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumni Award for public service on May 5 in Buffalo, where he resides. Schopp is executive director of the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo.
Hon. Barbara R. Johnson-Lee ’86 of Buffalo, will be honored at the Students of Color Dinner on April 14 in Buffalo. Johnson-Lee is a Buffalo City Court judge and a member of the board of directors of the UB Law Alumni Association.
James L. Jarvis Jr. ’88 of Buffalo has become chief campus counsel in UB’s Office of General Counsel. He previously served as senior counsel in the SUNY Office of General Counsel at UB.
Thomas F. Knab ’88 was promoted to managing partner with Underberg & Kessler LLP in the Buffalo office. Knab is chair of the firm’s litigation practice group. He lives in Williamsville, N.Y.
Lauren E. Breen ’89 will be honored at the 31st Buffalo Law Review Dinner on April 29 in Buffalo. She is executive director of Neighborhood Legal Services in Buffalo, where she resides.
Hon. John B. Licata ’92 has been elected a New York State Supreme Court justice, 8th Judicial District, in Buffalo, where he resides. Licata previously practiced with The Dolce Firm in Buffalo. He is a lifetime member of the Law Alumni Association.
Trini E. Ross ’92 was appointed to serve on the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee of U.S. Attorneys. Ross is U.S. Attorney for the Western District of New York, in Buffalo, where she resides. She is the first woman of color named to serve in this position. Ross is a past recipient of the UB Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumna Award for public service.
Carmen L. Snell ’92 has been promoted to vice president, deputy general counsel with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York in Buffalo, where she resides. Snell previously served as assistant general counsel. She is immediate past president of the Minority Bar Foundation in Buffalo.
Jodyann Galvin ’98 will receive the UB Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumna Award for community service on May 5 in Buffalo. Galvin is a partner with Hodgson Russ LLP in the Buffalo office. She is a past recipient of the Distinguished Alumna Award from UB Law's Students of Color. Galvin lives in East Aurora, N.Y.
Toni L. Frain ’99 was promoted to assistant vice president, director of Business Conduct & Policy in Global Compliance & Ethics with Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston, Mass. She is a resident of Winchester, Mass.
Robert J. Gutowski ’99 of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., will receive the UB Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumni Award for business on May 5 in Buffalo. He is general counsel with MSCI Inc. in New York City. Gutowski is a member of the School of Law’s Dean’s Advisory Council and previously served as chair of the New York City Chapter of the Law Alumni Association.
Seth S. Kim ’02 has been promoted to partner with Birch Stewart Kolasch & Birch LLP in Falls Church, Va. He concentrates his practice in all aspects of patent prosecution in a broad range of technologies, including various displays such as OLED and Micro LED, batteries and renewable technologies. Kim lives in Bristow, Va.
Hon. Ronald Castorina Jr. ’04 was elected a New York State Supreme Court justice, 13th Judicial District, in Staten Island, N.Y. He previously served as a New York State assemblyman, 62nd District, and a civil court judge with the New York City Civil Court. Castorina resides in Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J.

Erin E. McQuiggan ’07 has become a partner with Duane Morris LLP in Philadelphia. McQuiggan advises clients on trusts and estate law, focusing on sophisticated estate planning, probate and taxation matters. She lives in Merion Station, Pa.
Trevor M. Torcello ’07 of Buffalo was elected vice chair of the board of directors for Leadership Buffalo. Torcello, a shareholder with Gross Shuman P.C., counsels clients in commercial real estate, business and corporate law and litigation.
Hon. Raymond W. Walter ’07 has been elected a New York State Supreme Court justice, 8th Judicial District, in Buffalo. Walter was previously a partner with Magavern Magavern & Grimm LLP in Buffalo.
Hon. Carrie A. Phillips ’09 of Buffalo was elected a Buffalo City Court judge. She previously worked with the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo.
Karen Andolina Scott ’09 will receive the UB Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumna Award for public service on May 5 in Buffalo. She is executive director of Journey's End Refugee Services in Buffalo. Scott resides in Amherst, N.Y.

Isabelle M. Vladoiu ’16 (LL.M.) received three awards from the Canadian Human Rights International Organization for her human rights work: the 2021 Orquidea Award, the 2021 Trillium Award and the 2021 Gaviota Award. Vladoiu is founder of the U.S. Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights in Washington, D.C., where she resides.
