Nancy E. Mulloy-Bonn ’77 has become an adjunct instructor of law at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pa. She is also a Core Studies degree candidate (drawing, painting, sculpture and lithography) at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Mulloy-Bonn previously served as deputy director of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. She resides in Spring House, Pa.
Shelley B. Mayer ’79 of Scarsdale, N.Y., received the M. Dolores Denman Lady Justice Award from the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, Western New York Chapter, in Buffalo. She is a New York State Senator, District 37.
Guy A. Van Baalen ’82 has become assistant U.S. trustee with the U.S. Department of Justice, Middle District of Florida, in Tampa, Fla., where he resides. He previously served as assistant U.S. trustee for the Northern District of New York, in Utica, N.Y.
Robert M. Restaino ’85 was elected mayor of Niagara Falls, N.Y., where he resides. Restaino is a Niagara Falls solo practitioner.
Donna L. Burden ’87 was appointed general counsel of the Trucking Industry Defense Association. Burden is a founding member of Burden Hafner & Hansen LLC in Buffalo, focusing on defending catastrophic transportation accidents. She lives in Williamsville, N.Y.
Hon. Kevin M. Carter ’89 has been appointed supervising judge of the Family Courts of the 8th Judicial District. Carter is an Erie County Family Court judge in Buffalo. He lives in Orchard Park, N.Y.
Jeanne M. Vinal ’89 of Eggertsville, N.Y., was elected to the Erie County Legislature, 5th District. Vinal is a partner with Vinal & Vinal P.C. in Buffalo.
Martin Sanchez Rojas ’90 has become head of human resources with Tunnel Hill Partners/City Carting based in Stamford, Conn. He previously served as director of human resources, safety and general services with Intercos America in New York City. Rojas lives in New Rochelle, N.Y.
Mona Igram ’92 received the Leadership Award from the Lawrence Bar Association in Andover, Mass., where she resides. Igram is attorney in charge, Youth Advocacy Division, Committee for Public Counsel Services in Lowell, Mass.
John J. Flynn ’95 was named vice president of the National District Attorneys Association. He was also appointed chairman of the group’s metro subcommittee, which focuses on criminal justice issues that affect prosecutors in major cities. Flynn is Erie County district attorney in Buffalo.
Laurie A. Vahey ’96 received the Managing Partner of the Year Award from Corporate Counsel and InsideCounsel at the Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards on Oct. 16 in Washington, D.C. Vahey is managing partner with Vahey Getz LLP in Rochester, N.Y. She lives in Pittsford, N.Y.
Hon. Lenora B. Foote Beavers ’97 was elected a Buffalo City Court judge. Foote is executive assistant to Hon. Gerald Whalen ’83, presiding justice of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, 4th Department, in Buffalo, where she resides.
Hon. Jonathan S. Hickey ’01 was elected town justice of Clarence, N.Y. He is a confidential law clerk, New York State Supreme Court, 8th Judicial District, in Buffalo. Hickey lives in Williamsville, N.Y.
Hon. Peter J. Savage III ’03 was elected a Buffalo City Court judge. He was previously appointed to the bench. Savage is a Buffalo resident.
Hon. Matthew R. Coseo ’05 was elected Wilton Town Court justice in Wilton, N.Y., where he resides. Coseo was previously appointed to the position. He is principal court attorney with the Saratoga County Surrogate’s Court in Ballston Spa, N.Y.
Jennifer R. Scharf ’05 has become a partner with The Coppola Firm in Buffalo. She practices personal injury, health care law and litigation, employment law, and mediation and arbitration. Scharf co-directs the law school’s Trial Advocacy Program. She is a lifetime member of the Law Alumni Association.
Erin E. McQuiggan ’07 has joined Duane Morris LLP as special counsel in Philadelphia, where she resides. She practices in private client services and family offices, banks and trust companies.
Roopa R. Chakkappan ’09 obtained certification as an officer of Healthcare Compliance by the American Institute of Healthcare Compliance. Chakkappan is a senior associate with Hodgson Russ LLP in the Buffalo office, concentrating her practice on health law, administrative law, regulatory compliance and administrative enforcement defense. She lives in East Amherst, N.Y.
Amanda Carden Agins ’10 has become a partner with the Cicero Law Firm LLP in Rochester, N.Y., practicing estate planning and administration. Agins lives in Penfield, N.Y.
Mollie C. McGorry ’10 has become a partner with Connors LLP in Buffalo. She practices litigation including medical malpractice defense, personal injury, business litigation, representation of professionals and criminal defense. McGorry lives in Kenmore, N.Y.
Cory J. Weber ’10 has been promoted to partner with Rupp Baase Pfalzgraf Cunningham LLC. Weber practices insurance defense in the Buffalo office. He lives in Burt, N.Y.
Thomas A. Digati ’11 was elected to the Grand Island Town Board on Grand Island, N.Y., where he resides. He is a partner with Duggan Pawlowski & Cooke LLP in Buffalo.
