Louis P. DiLorenzo ’76 is listed in the 2021 edition of Chambers USA. He is managing partner in the labor, employment, employee benefits and immigration practice group of Bond Schoeneck & King PLLC in the New York City office. DiLorenzo is an emeritus member of the law school’s Dean’s Advisory Council. He resides in Romulus, N.Y.

Hon. Deborah A. Dowling ’79 was appointed an associate justice of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Department, in New York City. She previously served as a Kings County Supreme Court justice, Criminal Term, 2nd Judicial District, in New York City. Dowling is a resident of Brooklyn.

Andrea Schillaci ’82 of Buffalo was named president of the National Association of Women Business Owners Buffalo Niagara, in Orchard Park, N.Y. She is a partner with Hurwitz & Fine, P.C., and head of the firm’s business litigation department.  

Jeffrey H. Katz ’86 has become a member of the board of directors of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo. He is a partner with Katz & Baehre in Williamsville, N.Y., where he resides.

Lisa M. Mueller ’93 has been selected to receive a 2021 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service. She is vice dean for communications at UB School of Law. Mueller lives on Grand Island, N.Y.

Charles D. Grieco ’95 is listed in the 2021 edition of Chambers USA. Grieco is a member with Bond Schoeneck & King PLLC in Buffalo, where he practices employment law. He is a Buffalo resident.

Amy Habib Rittling ’95 has become a member of the board of directors of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo. Rittling is a partner with Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP in Buffalo. She lives in Amherst, N.Y.

Hon. Bahaati E. Pitt ’98 was appointed an associate justice of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department, in New York City. She previously served as a New York State Supreme Court justice, 12th Judicial District, in the Bronx, where she resides.

Jessica Ortiz ’05 has been named chair of the selection committee of the When There Are Nine Scholarship Project, established by former assistant U.S. Attorneys for the Southern District of New York and the Federal Bar Foundation. The scholarship project honors the lifelong work of the late Hon. Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Ortiz is a partner with MoloLamken LLP in New York City and a member of the law school's Dean’s Advisory Council. She lives in East Brunswick, N.J.  

Katherine E. Courtney ’06 was elected president of the Foundation of the Monroe County Bar Association in Rochester, N.Y. She is a judicial law clerk for the U.S. District Court, Western District of New York in Rochester. Courtney lives in Spencerport, N.Y.   

Brent J. Nowicki ’06 was appointed executive director of FINA (Fédération International de Natation), the world governing body for five water sports – men’s and women’s swimming and diving, high diving, open water swimming and artistic swimming – in Lausanne, Switzerland. Nowicki previously served as managing counsel at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.

Justin M. Whittaker ’06 has formed the boutique law firm Whittaker Law LLC in Cincinnati, where he resides. His focus is on business litigation, business formation, employment law and estate planning.  

Anna Z. Spacone ’09 has become a partner with McMichael Taylor Gray LLC in the Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Vermont offices. She resides in Bowmansville, N.Y.  

Kevin J. Dwyer ’13 has been promoted to partner with Ward Arcuri Foley & Dwyer in New Hartford, N.Y., where he resides. He counsels clients regarding litigation, estate and trust administration, family law and criminal defense.

Henry A. Zomerfeld ’14 of Kenmore, N.Y., has been appointed chair of the Environmental Law Committee of the Bar Association of Erie County in Buffalo. Zomerfeld is a senior associate with Hodgson Russ LLP in the Buffalo office. He is a member of the board of directors of the UB Law Alumni Association’s GOLD Group.     

Robert Townsley ’16 has become associated with Harris Beach PLLC in Buffalo, handling cases involving commercial real estate. Townsley is a Buffalo resident.  

Samantha V. Catone ’17 has joined Wesley Clark & Peshkin LLP as an associate in Buffalo, practicing matrimonial law. She is a Buffalo resident.  

Deonna M. Jones ’19 has become a staff attorney with the Center for Elder Law & Justice in Buffalo, where she resides.  

Sarah M. Grimaldi ’20 is practicing as an associate with Harter Secrest & Emery LLP in Buffalo in the firm’s intellectual property practice group. Grimaldi lives in Tonawanda, N.Y.  

Mary C. Hamilton ’20 of Lancaster, N.Y., has become associated with Harter Secrest & Emery LLP in the Buffalo office. She practices in the firm’s securities and capital markets practice group.

Brittany E. Morgan ’20 has joined Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria LLP as an associate in the Buffalo office, practicing personal injury law. She is a Buffalo resident.
