Accessibility Resources

The School of Law believes in providing an equitable and inclusive environment for students with disabilities.

Our Office of Student Affairs coordinates with UB’s Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR) to help provide reasonable accommodations to qualified students.  The OAR staff meets with students to obtain appropriate documentation, discusses the students’ needs, and provides a memorandum that outlines recommended accommodations (the “Recommendation Memo”).

Upon receipt of the Recommendation Memo, the School of Law reviews the recommendations to ensure that they are “reasonable” considering the factors outlined in UB’s Reasonable Accommodation Policy. Among other things, the School of Law ensures that each recommendation will not impose an undue administrative burden and is consistent with the Technical Standards for the academic program.

Our Office of Student Affairs is available to students who have questions about this process, need help coordinating accommodations, have emergency or unexpected needs, or generally need support or advice.
