Thank you for contacting the Civil Rights & Transparency Clinic. We provide services to:

  1. Individuals who have had their civil rights or civil liberties violated, with a focus on:
    • Housing discrimination
    • Employment discrimination
    • Police misconduct
    • Constitutional claims
    • Other forms of discrimination and unequal treatment
  2. Journalists and activists seeking information from the government or to exercise their First Amendment rights
  3. Other matters that will advance justice and open government

Completing this questionnaire does NOT create an attorney-client relationship. It is merely an application. You have the right to keep looking for a lawyer or decline our services if offered.

If we determine that your needs align well with our capacity to provide services, someone from our office will contact you to learn a bit more information about you and your business and inform you of the next steps.

By voluntarily completing this application, some basic information is collected about you, which may include your name, home and mailing address, email address, telephone number, university affiliation, and potential or current business information. This information may be shared with the University at Buffalo Sponsored Project Services and its affiliates for grant reporting purposes.
