In 2016, Monica Piga Wallace was elected to the New York State Assembly, representing the 143rd District. She served four consecutive terms, advocating for more than 130,000 residents in her district and advancing legislation affecting all New York State residents.
Prior to 2016, Wallace taught Advanced Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research at the University at Buffalo School of Law. Before joining the law school, she served as a confidential law clerk to Hon. Richard J. Arcara, U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of New York, and as a law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She later practiced as an associate at Phillips Lytle LLP after graduating from UB School of Law in 1994.
