Question: Hello, I am having trouble viewing one of my courses on the web portal. It only shows me enrolled in one course (Law 674 International Business Environment), and the information on that course is incomplete and contains some sort of error message. The course I was looking for and expecting to see, however, (Law 727 Property Rights & Economic Development) is not there at all, and neither is my 3rd Law class Law 755 International Labor Law. Professor Meidinger, the Property Rights professor, has posted materials for us to read for the first day of class, however, I cannot access them. Can you please help?
Question: I have never used the web portal before, what is the username and password?
Question: I was wondering if you could tell me how to upload files so the students and co-instructors can access them at any time.

Answer: The problem has been corrected, sorry for the trouble it has caused you. The problem was no instructor was associated with one of your classes for whatever reason (a scenario we did not anticipate while programming the web portal). About a week ago we upgraded the course section of the portal to display more information (including instructor names). Apparently since that upgrade was done you weren't able to access your courses. I have modified the upgrade and it will now allow for courses with no instructors without causing this error. If this downtime of your portal has caused you to miss anything for your courses that is a problem, you may inform your instructor the reason you were not able to access their materials for a few days. If they want confirmation of this fact you can refer them to Law-IT. John Christensen UB Law-IT

Question: I was wondering if you could tell me how to upload files so the students and co-instructors can access them at any time.
Answer: You can upload Files in two places for your course. Both the Course Web Site and Discussion Board tools have such functionality. From the Courses page you can access both these tools. 1.) In Course Web Site Editor There is an option to Upload your own Files of any format. Click on Course Web Site, then hit the Edit Link. You can upload multiple files at once, click the (Browse..) button and locate files on your hard drive. When all the files you wish to upload are selected hit the (Upload Files) button. 2.) In the Discussion Board Simply post a message or reply in a topic and you will see two buttons (Image) and (File) choose (Image) and if you want to post a .jpg or .gif image into the text of your post. Choose (File) for any other format (.pdf,.doc,etc......) A pop-up box will appear on which you will click browse and find the file you wish to upload. In both cases you have to initialize the course web site or discussion board for the class. To do so click (Create Web Site) button or click on the words Discussion Board and click the link it directs you to click to initialize the discussion board for the class.
