Applications are available on-line at the Board of Law Examiner's web site: www.nybarexam.org. Applications must be completed on line or postmarked no more than 120 days, nor less than 90 days prior to the examination for which application is being made. There is no provision for late filing except that for applicants who took the immediately preceding New York bar examination, the deadline for re-application is 21 days from the date of the applicant's failure notice, or 90 days prior to the examination, whichever is later. The fee for the examination is $250 that must be paid by certified check or money order payable to: "State Board of Law Examiners."

Day 1 morning - 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (3 hours and 15 minutes)
50 New York State multiple-choice questions
3 New York State essays

Day 1 afternoon- 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (3 hours)
1 MPT (Multistate Performance Test) question
2 New York State essays

Day 2 morning - 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (3 hours and 15 minutes)
100 Mutlistate Bar Examination questions

Day 2 afternoon - 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (3 hours and 15 minutes)
100 Mutlistate Bar Examination questions

The allocation for grading purposes will be 40% essay questions, 10% NYMC, 10% MPT, and 40% MBE.
