Moot CourtMoot court and mock trials help students refine their research, writing, and oral advocacy skills with the assistance of faculty, attorneys, and judges. The ability to stand up and argue either side of a case is invaluable, especially if you are thinking about becoming a litigator. UB Law School offers many opportunities for students to compete against other law schools nationwide in such areas as trial advocacy, tax, and international, environmental, and criminal law through academic courses and through student-run competitions. UB Law School and its student Moot Court Boards host moot court competitions with representatives from numerous law schools. A beautiful new courtroom on the first floor of OBrian Hall provides UB Law students with an opportunity to watch judges and lawyers in action. Other new facilities include classrooms, apartments, and a student lounge. Our student teams travel to other locales to compete in moot court events. Over the years, our programs have won many awards and have achieved a national reputation for excellence.
