Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner - The Law Alumni Association will present its awards on Tuesday, May 5, at the Hyatt Regency, Buffalo. Meeting at 5:30pm, Cocktails at 6pm, Dinner at 6:45pm. Awards will be presented to Hon. Jeffrey S. White '70 for the Judiciary; Brent L. Wilson '76 for Private Practice; SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor Emerita Elizabeth B. Mensch '79 for Public Service; Lynn A. Clarke '83 for Community Service; Anna Marie Cellino '81 for Business; Hon. Sharon S. Townsend for Service by a Non-Alumnus/a. The Rochester Chapter will host a CLE Program titled "Practice Development in a Down Economy." Attendees will earn 2.0 CLE credits in the area of Practice Management, and will learn from a panel of experts how to build their client base and market their practice in the face of today's economic pressures. The panel of experts includes Susan Saltonstall Duncan, President of RainMaking Oasis, Inc. in Old Lyme, Conn., Richard Moon, an international marketing and branding consultant with offices in London, England and Rochester, N.Y., and Charles A. Stillman, Esq. of Stillman, Friedman & Schechtman, P.C. in New York, N.Y.

University at Buffalo Law School Commencement. Republic of Kenya Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, EGH, MP will deliver the University at Buffalo Law School commencement address. Honorary degrees will be given to Irene Zubaida Khan, secretary general of Amnesty International, and J. Mason Davis Jr., a practicing attorney who played a key role in the desegregation of Alabama in the 1960s. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 23 in the Center for the Arts. A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony in the Atrium.
